Non-Traditional Plays and Reaction Drills with Genny Volpe, Head Coach of Women’s Volleyball at Rice University.
Entering 2020, her 17th season as head coach at Rice, Genny Volpe has established the Owl volleyball program as a power in the Southwest. Under Volpe’s watch, the Owls have been to five NCAA championships (2004, 2008, 2009, 2018, 2019), the only five appearances in Rice’s history.
In this course, Coach Genny Volpe presents how to incorporate game situations into your practice planning. She expresses the importance of planning practices like this so your athletes will be prepared for special situations during the game. If you are a coach who wants to learn how to better organize your practices and fully prepare your athletes for games, then this is the course for you!
We are providing this drill to give you ideas on how to enhance your current practice drills. The idea is not to implement it exactly as is, but rather to tweak it to make it fit your system.
