Teaching Setters to Read the Middle Block

September 17, 2016 by

A good attack requires a good set. A good set requires great technique. Great technique by your setter does not, however, guarantee a great attack. A setter must me able to read the defense and then make the right decision. If we expect our setter to do this, we must provide them with the training to do so.

In the clip below Todd Dagenais, University of Central Florida head coach, breaks down read progressions to help setters understand where they should set the ball and improve your attack. He provides simple reads and straightforward drills to help train your setters to make good decisions.
